Love and Drum Corps
One of my friends who is marching SOA this year got an unfortunate ultimatum from his girlfriend to choose her or the corps. Now, I’m not sure if that still is the case, but that’s just a terrible thing to do to someone. I like her, don’t get me wrong. And I know him going away on tour put their relationship through a lot, but that’s his family. That’s his dream. And unless you are married with 2.5 kids, the person you love shouldn’t have to put their dreams on hold for you.
I’m going to miss Taylor like crazy, but I’ll survive. We will survive. I’m lucky, and in a weird way I guess he is too, because I know why he’s going and I know how much he loves it, and honestly Taylor is just made for Drum Corps. I wish I could go with him, but I can’t. But I want him to be happy and that’s really all that matters.
