I would maintain your friendship with your best friend. Sometimes, people have crazy parents, and they shouldn’t be punished for it.
Secondly, I think you should definitely talk to your friend’s mom. You should do it in a mature, and calm manner, because that’s the most productive way to discuss something like this. I would also bring your mom along, so that 1) you can get it sorted out and 2) if this woman truly is crazy, you have a support/back up in case shit gets real.
